META-R is an R-based application for analyzing multi-environment trial (MET) data, developed by CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center). It helps plant breeders, agronomists, and biometricians evaluate genotype performance across locations and seasons by providing flexible linear mixed-model tools, estimation of BLUEs/BLUPs, variance components, and broad-sense heritability. META-R characterizes genotype-by-environment interaction using stability and adaptability statistics, alongside AMMI and GGE biplot visualizations.

The software allows users to import trial data from common file formats, specify fixed and random effects, and generate publication-ready tables and graphics. It supports genotype ranking and selection by summarizing performance across environments and identifying stable, high-performing candidates. Built on the R ecosystem, META-R combines an accessible interface with reproducible, script-based workflows, making rigorous MET analysis more efficient for breeding and agricultural research programs.

META-R is developed by Cimmyt, Int. and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 4.1, 5.0 and 6.0. The names of program executable files are Corre_META-R.exe, META-R.exe.
